MAD Global, is proud to announce its latest digital activation and event, a curation in Spatial, a showcase of digital fashion, design, and art. Hosted in Luis Fern and Metamundo Gallery Bringing artists, designers and Creators to Spatial during MVFW23.
The event will be held at Luis Fern and Metamundo Spatial Gallery, providing a stunning backdrop for the digital creations on display. It is to be attended from anywhere in the world, from March 28th to March 31st. It will be directly linked with activations taking place in Decentraland.

Tohu a Te Kīngi 2024: Art curator Megan Tamati-Quennell

Over 30 years of translating a passion for modern and contemporary Māori art into prose and exhibitions has led to curator and writer Megan Tamati-Quennell (Te Ātiawa, Ngāi Tahu and Kāti Māmoe) being recognised in today’s King’s Birthday Honours.She has been made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to Māori and First Nations art.

Tamati-Quennell has held curatorial roles at Te Papa Tongarewa and New Plymouth’s Govett Brewster Art Gallery, and has a special interest in contemporary Māori art, Māori modernism, Māori women artists and global indigenous art.

Te Papa Museum modern art curator to talk Rita Angus in Central Taranaki

Te Papa Museum’s modern art curator Lizzie Bisley is coming to Central Taranaki.

Bisley, the curator of the national touringRita Angus: New Zealand Modernistexhibition, will give a curator talk at Percy Thomson Gallery in Stratford next month.

Bisley’s curator talk is part of the Taranaki Arts Festival Trust Winterfest programme, a 10-day festival featuring live performances, talks and activities.

During the session, she will discuss the life and art of Rita Angus.

Native American groups allege Met Museum’s curator is ‘Pretendian’

Native American campaigners are raising questions about the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s first ever curator of Native American art — claiming that she does not belong to a federally recognized tribe in the US, The Post has learned.

Patricia Marroquin Norby was hired with great fanfare in 2020, after what the museum said was “a long and competitive search,” as its “inaugural Associate Curator of Native American Art” in its American Wing.

For years, Marroquin Norby, 53, described herself — including in legal filings — as “Apache,” “Eastern Apache” and “Nde” as well as “Purepacha/Tarascan,” an indigenous group from the northwestern part of Michoacan, Mexico.
