Artist Rachel Rasmussen prepares for Tenby Museum exhibition

Daughter to Christine and Peter Brown, Rachel’s inspiration started at school. She invites her old art teachers from Ysgol Greenhill and St Teilos, and any others who knew her growing up as a child, to the exhibition, on display at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery from May 3 to June 16.

Rachel said: “I visited the museum many times as a child; overlooked the best beach I played on every summer growing up. We’d run from school straight to the beach and if it started raining we’d either run to the Dennis cafe or take a trip to the museum.

The National Discovery Museum Institute (NDMI) in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Bangkok will present MOSAICO – Italian Code of a Timeless Art exhibition, it is part of the ongoing collaboration between NDMI and the Embassy of Italy in Bangkok to promote cultural exchange between the two countries and stimulate learning and understanding of diverse cultures through exhibitions and educational activities.

“Mosaic” is considered a masterpiece of craftsmanship that has been passed down in Italy for more than 2,000 years, spanning the entire country from north to south over a distance of more than 1,500 kilometers.

Museum for Rescued Art in Rome gives stolen artefacts their due

Antiquities recovered after being looted in Italy and sold on the global black market have found their sanctuary in the heart of Rome.

The “Museum for Rescued Art” is housed in a spectacular hall within the majestic Diocletian Baths, ancient Rome’s largest bath complex.

Currently holding dozens of amphorae, coins and busts, the museum stages rotating exhibits aimed not just at showcasing the art, but recounting how it was rescued.
