A pair of special exhibitions, one celebrating a local artist whose photography has taken her around the world, the other an international contemporary art superstar with increasing connections to NOLA, intoxicate the mind and feed the soul.

Debbie Fleming Caffery

Debbie Fleming Caffery (b. 1948) is a Louisiana native. For 50 years, Caffery’s black-and-white prints have examined themes of faith, the dignity of labor, and the environment. Her first major retrospective, “Debbie Fleming Caffery: In Light of Everything,” includes examples representative of her entire career from the back breaking work taking place in Louisiana’s sugar cane fields to striking avian portraits taken around the world.

Mongolian artist to open solo exhibition in Japan

Member of the Union of Artists of Mongolia, artist of the Art Gallery of Mongolia Oyun-Erdene Tsedenpil will open her solo exhibition in Japan entitled “Mongol Art”.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the Art Gallery of Mongolia and the 50th anniversary of the Treaty on Cooperation in Culture between Mongolia and Japan.

The event will feature about 20 artworks by the artist and her large-scale painting “Ikh Khuree”, completed in five years.

The Event Features Works by Twelve Prominent Black Artists From Los Angeles

An art exhibition titled “FREEDOM” will open at 910 Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice from June 16 to June 23, 2024, commemorating Juneteenth. Organized by Black in Mayberry in partnership with ESMoA, the event features works by twelve prominent Black artists from Los Angeles.

The exhibition reflects on the African American journey toward freedom, honoring lives lost in the struggle and celebrating those who fought for today’s freedoms. “FREEDOM” invites visitors to explore contemporary interpretations of freedom through art, addressing issues such as mass incarceration, police brutality, and educational inequities.

Miami starts December with great art exhibition opening

With the support of the Cassianu and G-Luxe Studio organizations; and with the intention of promoting local cultural scene in Wynwood, last Tuesday was the opening of the art exhibition that will leave a trace of creativity and inspiration in the city of Miami.Irina Messianu and Klara Chavarria were the artists commissioned to present their pieces. The renowned creators had used series of selected works, contemporary paintings that delighted the audience.In addition, the event featured the photographic work of Luis Miguel Messianu, founder, president and COO of ALMA, the leading Hispanic agency in the US market.Chavarria, of Guatemalan origin, conceives his works as: “An internal search that provides a creative outlet to communicate and express their interests, feelings and emotions.
