The Poet’s Cafe in Reading, South Street Art Centre
At eight o’clock on the second friday of each month, at South Street Arts Centre in Reading, The Poets Cafe assembles in a warmly lit room, all faces turned like sunflowers, to the reader on the stage.
The Poets Cafe is Reading’s longest running poetry night and it continues each month to bring writers together to listen and learn from one another’s work.
Every month, a new guest poet is invited to share their work with the room. These are established poets, often reading from published collections and anthologies of their own.

These masterpieces, crafted by the legendary French artist Auguste Rodin, are quietly placed at an exhibition hall in Shanghai, inviting local visitors on a journey through the splendor of 19th-century French art.
The exhibition Rodin: A Hinge Figure towards Modernity will kick off on Saturday as the opening exhibition of the much-anticipated Centre d’ Art Rodin, or Rodin art center in Shanghai, a key cultural exchange project under the theme of the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic ties this year.
