Before the art world sets off for New Delhi and the India Art Fair (IAF), they will be making a pit-stop in the Maximum City to catch the Mumbai Gallery Weekend. Taking place over the course of four days — across 34 galleries and design venues ranging from Colaba and Fort to Byculla and Bandra — the 11th edition, which begins today, boasts several new shows, including DAG’s The Orientals’ Benares, a series of talks at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS), a young collectors’ pop-up, and live events and performances. Rekha Rodwittiya’s show at Sakshi Gallery and Sudarshan Shetty’s installation at IF.BE are highly anticipated.

The Mumbai Gallery Weekend, which started out with nine city galleries decamping to Bandra for a weekend to showcase their best-known artists, has grown into a way to democratise art, drawing in collectors and neophytes. Kelowna Art Gallery adds summer exhibition

A new art exhibition has opened at the Kelowna Art Gallery.

Stories that animate us highlights a diverse selection of works on paper and animations from a wide variety of collectively shared oral histories, knowledge systems, and cosmologies, as well as personal memories, dreams and imaginings.

What does 18th century painter Francisco de Goya have in common with Haida and Tlingit artist Robert Davidson? Or, contemporary animator and filmmaker Amanda Strong with renowned Canadian conceptual artist Joyce Wieland?

The answer can be found in the visual storytelling that permeates the exhibition. Stories that animate us is organized and curated by the Vancouver Art Gallery opens at the Kelowna Art Gallery this weekend.

c’s new exhibition debuts at Bruton art gallery

Manor house renovated as home and art gallery

A Grade II* listed manor house built in the 17th Century has been restored and brought back into use as a family home.

Burderop House in Chiseldon, Wiltshire, which was redesigned into its current neo-classical square design in the 18th Century, had been used as offices for several decades.

Property developer, Arthur Dallimer, has now converted the house into a home with a downstairs space turned into an arts venue.”I’m very happy to have been able to have brought back one of the town’s most beautiful buildings into its original use like this,” he said.
