Art & Soul Night/ Mistletoe Market at Shangri-La Springs

Shangri-La Springs is hosting our first Art & Soul Night / Mistletoe Market on December 11th. Art & Soul Night / Mistletoe Market is a FREE community event, open 5 – 8 PM. Featuring live music, entertainment, an artisan market, and delicious food and beverage for purchase. Santa Clause is visiting us from the North Pole so come and say Hi to Santa! Our property will host a cash bar with organic beer and wine. The artisan market includes eclectic products for sale, fresh produce from Shangri-La Springs’ USDA certified organic garden, local vendors, area artists and craftsmen. All are welcome to enjoy an evening under the stars at Shangri-La Springs’ beautiful and historic property.
Indoor space is $50 and outdoor space is $45. Vendors may register for multiple Art & Soul Nights all at once or individually. Shangri-La Springs has limited indoor vendor space available. With the lure of a luxury beachfront apartment for the weekend, I head to Folkestone on the coast of Kent, which is only an hour from London by train, but I drive there from Brighton.
I arrive at the award-winning Shoreline development and the garage doors’ camera recognises my car’s license plate and swing open. I park and then enter the apartment from the garage to find a very bright and welcoming home.
Renowned British artist and Turner Prize winner Lubaina Himid has been selected to represent the UK at the 61st Venice Biennale in 2026, marking another milestone in her groundbreaking career.
Himid, known for her vibrant, thought-provoking work that explores race, history, and cultural identity, will take over the British Pavilion with a major solo exhibition of new work. The British Council, which commissions the UK’s representative for the prestigious event, made the announcement earlier today.

A talk on a renowned 20th-century British artist will replace a previously postponed event in Dunmow.
Dunmow Art Group was set to host a talk by Janet Dyson on the Bardfield Artists on January 15.
However, due to illness, this has been postponed, however Pauline Hockley has now stepped in to deliver a talk on John Piper.
John Piper was an English painter, printmaker, and stained-glass artist.
