New English Art Club OPEN NOW
Artists are invited to submit work for exhibition alongside members of the New English Art Club at the NEAC Annual Exhibition 2024.
At the heart of the NEAC is the search, propagation, and education of meaningful and resonant art. It is committed to authenticity through the observation of life, as well as the task of articulating and communicating these ideas, with the beauty of skilful language. At the same time, it strives to keep alive the ideals and ethos of its history.
The NEAC Annual Exhibition is a showcase not only for its members but also for aspiring artists: with a history going back more than a hundred years, it is an opportunity for work to be seen alongside some of the best artists painting today, held at Mall Galleries in London.

Woodbridge Art Club can buy Tide Mill Way property
A Suffolk art club has successfully applied to have its former home registered as an Asset of Community Value (ACV), giving it the right to buy the premises.
Woodbridge Art Club used to be based at the Tide Mill Way base until its lease expired in March, with the premises’ owner the town council not offering the club a new lease amid plans to make the property available for wider community use.
However, the club has been granted the ACV status for the property, with the council set to undertake a 28-day public engagement exercise seeking opinions on the future management of the Tide Mill Way building.

Celebrating the act of looking and drawing from life: New English Art Club presents latest annual exhibition
Created to counteract the ‘stuffiness’ of the Royal Academy, the New English Art Club nurtured and encouraged some of Britain’s best artists. The group’s latest exhibition begins this week, with plenty of works for sale.
What do Walter Sickert, Augustus John, Stanley Spencer, John Singer Sargent and Paul Nash all have in common? Apart from being very fine artists, they were all members of the New English Art Club (NEAC), which is having its annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London, from June 13–July 22.

The accidental galleries of Jesus Art Club
What constitutes art? The ever-persisting debate – what should and should not be classified as art. Usually, ‘modern art’ is slated as easy: a quick way to make money through cheap symbolism. It seems that art ultimately garners public respect when the piece’s origin is a story of hardship, or an initial rejection of an art style or content. The Impressionists and the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood were both movements which in their time failed to capture audiences as they do today, now adorning almost every gallery wall. Daring to class us all as artists, Jesus College Art Club – run by final year medic Fatima Eshani – created an exhibition which opposes this stance, wanting us all to discover our own artistic potential.
