If the ‘Secret Invasion’ title credits aren’t an ethical use of AI art, what is?
This isn’t a facetious question; it’s an unanswered one. What, if anything, is an ethical way to use current generative AI in a major, public-facing work of art?
This quandary emerges from the furor regarding Marvel Studios’ use of AI to create the main title sequence of its latest show, “Secret Invasion.” AI generated art — in this climate? By a company with billions to spend? Unacceptable! But this is not quite the secret AI invasion it was initially characterized as.

Life is to Art, as Human is to AI: Imitation in its Strangest Form
Yesterday morning I took a walk with Patti Labelle and an evening stroll with Georgia Ann and Rick Fox. Then, I watched a simulation of Facetime with my favorite influencer (Malik) before shopping with my fellow “Trader Hoes” (Steezus and Lavelle) at Trader Joe’s. How other people decorate, how they clean, how they work, walk, and watch tv.

Traditional vs Digital: The Impacts of AI Art Generators on Egyptian Artists
Do perspectives on artificial intelligence (AI) generated art boil down to a difference of personal opinion, or is there something to be said for its impact on traditional versus digital artists? A conversation with both may provide insight on the matter.
AI art generators are software used to instantly create art based on written prompts. While it has helpful applications, like when it is used to complement art or streamline some animation processes, the current controversy centers around how the art AI has been trained on copyrighted material, and whether it will replace human-made art.

Unity CEO: Generative AI will make better games, but won’t steal jobs
New artificial intelligence tools promoted by tech giant Unity will help game developers, not put them out of work, the company’s CEO, John Riccitiello, tells Axios.
Why it matters: Video games have become a premier proving ground for generative AI — and the locus for many anxieties about AI’s potential drawbacks.
- The potential upside: AI could automate game development’s more tedious tasks — including generating starter art and code that developers can then refine — freeing their time for more creative endeavors.
